We are jumping to episode 4 to where the series dives into scripture. The previous episodes are plot development. We encourage you to watch them on your own time, but we will give a recap before watching Episode 4.

Episode 4: “The Rock on Which It Is Built”

The Chosen Season 1 Episode 4, "The Rock on Which It Is Built," centers on Simon Peter's debt and his first encounter with Jesus. Desperate after a failed night of fishing, Simon is spied on by the tax collector Matthew. His brother Andrew tells him about Jesus as the Messiah. Jesus appears and, after teaching from Simon's boat, orchestrates a miraculous catch. Overwhelmed, Simon recognizes Jesus and is called to follow him, along with Andrew, James, and John. Matthew witnesses the astonishing event. This episode marks Simon's calling and the beginning of Jesus' core disciples.
