“How long, O Lord?” is a question we encounter throughout Scripture. King David asked it. The prophet Habakkuk asked it. And in the vision given to the Apostle John in Revelation, the martyrs hidden beneath the altar cried out, “How long, O Lord?” It is a question many of us continue to ask today as we witness war, disease, suffering, and ongoing hostilities among family, friends, and neighbours. How long until you make things right…Will things ever be right?
